 SINGER SONGWRITER, INSTRUMENTALIST, MUSIC MAJOR

SINGER SONGWRITER, INSTRUMENTALIST, MUSIC MAJOR

SOPHIA MASSAD’s musical career started when she began studying Ease of Speech technique in 2009. Growing up around a musical family, she was exposed to the world of music at a young age and discovered her love for music. She began performing at the age of twelve at various venues such as the Oklahoma Centennial Rodeo Opry, American Kids Inc, among other such as local festivals and fairs in and around the state.

As a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist today, you will find her performing at your local coffee shop, restaurant or theater with her pop-folk sound, guitar, loop-pedal, humor, and even ukulele, accompanying pure and heartfelt vocals.

After her first single release in 2013, Sophia continued her development as an independent artist and released her freshman EP, contributing as a writer and co-producer, also playing piano, guitar, and ukulele on the project. She released another single in February of 2016, titled “Apollo" and is currently writing for her next project.

With an Associates Degree from the University of Oklahoma she is now attending the Academy of Contemporary Music at the University of Central Oklahoma in downtown Oklahoma City, majoring in Vocal Performance and Music Production.

While not studying or performing as a professional musician over the last 6 years, Sophia has spent her time outside of music working with children of all ages as a nanny, camp counselor, and as a lead educator in the youth program at her church.

“I thought I could just sing like Beyonce, but it always hurt after I sang. While I struggled a lot with pitch, breath control, vibrato, I also suffered from severe allergies and was often sick, therefore unable to sing well during the spring and fall. After starting to execute the technique, I began to understand more about my health and how to sing while working through illness. Learning to sing with ease has allowed me to increase my range, control and understand of my my voice on a deeper level, which consequently has given me not only the ability to sing confidently and comfortably in a safe place at all times, but also the flexibility to grow in my own personal art and performance. The technique has made singing easy, fun, and an overall empowering experience for me, which has created a passion I now have for sharing it with others. My goal as a coach is to help vocalists alleviate vocal struggles and grow in their own journey by passing along the life-changing knowledge that has impacted my life in such a positive way."

With over 6 years Ease of Speech study with AEVStudios, she desires to share the wonders of truly singing with ease with others, therefore is completing her study as an AEVS Associate-in-Training.
